The Philadelphia Phillies place Tom Gordon on the DL
The Phillies have placed Tom Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right rotator cuff. He’s 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP so far this season. He has saved 5 games this season, but he also has blown three of them. He has struck out 11 batters in only 9.1 innings which shows that he still has good stuff when healthy. Brett Myers will take over as the closer of the Phillies. Myers is 0-2 with 1 save, a 6.20 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP so far thise season. Myers has whiffed 33 batters in 24.2 innings so far this season which shows that he’s adjusting to his new role in the bullpen.
