Greg Dobbs was a longshot to make the Phillies out of Spring Training but he did.  Then the Phillies were just planning on letting him pinch hit and back up the corner infield spots, but, when Ryan Howard got injured and Wes Helms got off to a slow start Dobbs took advantage of the extra playing time he received.  In his last 23 games, Dobbs is 21 for 65 (.323 avg, .966 OPS) with 13 runs scored, 5 homers and 14 RBIs.  Dobbs’ hot hitting has raised his season average to .287 on the season and he’s getting much more playing time than anyone thought he would.  He will continue to get playing time as long as his bat stays hot.
