The Phillies are having no problem swinging the bats

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Playing Well by chinmusic on Thursday 12 July 2007 at 2:11 pm

The Phillies have gotten a lot of good hitting efforts in the first half of the season.  Chase Utley has been awesome again this season as he is hitting .325 with 64 runs scored, 15 homers and 68 RBIs so far.  A lot of those numbers were produced before Ryan Howard started hitting the ball well which shows what kind of a hitter that Utley is.  Jimmy Rollins is the guy that makes the whole offense go for the Phillies.  Rollins is hitting .286 with 71 runs scored, 22 doubles, 10 triples, 16 homers, 53 RBIs and 15 stolen bases so far this season and that says it all about what he means to the lineup at the top.  Aaron Rowand has stayed healthy all season long and he has made the All Star game because of it.  He is the ultimate gamer as he gives the Phillies 110% every day and night.  Rowand is hitting .310 with 52 runs scored, 11 homers and 43 RBIs and he will continue to play well as long as he doesn’t get injured.  Shane Victorino has been a very pleasant surprise for the Phillies this year.  He is hitting .277 with 55 runs scored, 11 homers, 37 RBIs and 27 stolen bases so far this season.  Ryan Howard has finally got his stroke back after a very poor start to the season.  He is now hitting .256 with 39 runs scored, 21 homers and 67 RBIs this season.  Look for Howard to have a monster 2nd half of the season.
