The Phillies have re-signed 36-year old lefty reliever Scott Eyre to a 1-year, $2 million dollar contract. Eyre pitched very well for the Phillies after being acquired late in the season from the Cubs. He pitched in 19 games (0 starts) with the Phillies and he was 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP. The Phillies are hoping that Eyre will give them a solid 2nd lefty in the bullpen behind J.C. Romero. Eyre has now pitched in 575 games (32 starts) in his major league career and he is 26-29 with 4 saves, a 4.36 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP.
