Jake Woods signs on with the Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies have inked 27-year old lefty Jake Woods to a minor league contract. Woods pitched in 15 games (0 starts) for the Mariners last season and he was 0-0 with a 6.16 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP. He has now pitched in 84 games (8 starts) in his major league career and he is 8-5 with 1 save, a 4.60 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. Woods could help the Phillies out if he makes the team until J.C. Romero is ready to return from his suspension.
