The Philadelphia Phillies figured that if it isn’t broke you don’t fix it. But, the Phillies acted quickly in signing lefty swinging Raul Ibanez to replace Pat Burrell in LF. The Phillies also acquired Ronny Paulino from the Pirates to push Carlos Ruiz for the starting job this spring. The Phillies also will give Marcus Giles the chance to rebuild his career this spring. Pablo Ozuna is also very versatile in the field so he could win a spot on the Phillies’ bench. The Phillies added Chan Ho Park and Gary Majewski to help out on the right side of the bullpen. Jake Woods will likely get a chance to replace J.C. Romero while he’s out due to a performance enhancing suspension.
