The Phillies have acquired 24-year old righty pitcher Manny Ayala from the Padres for a player to be named later or cash. Ayala pitched in 21 games (17 starts) in AA+AAA ball last season and he is 7-4 with a 4.96 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. This was a good move for organizational depth on the Phillies.
