Game #1 matches up pretty well in the Phillies’ favor. Cliff Lee will toe the rubber for the Phillies against righty Ubaldo Jimenez. Lee started 34 games for the Indians & Phillies this year and he was 14-13 with a 3.22 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He did start one game against the Rockies this season and he was dominating. He was the winning pitcher in a game in which he worked 7 innings and whiffed 9 batters while only allowing 1 earned run. Ubaldo Jimenez is a good young pitcher with a lot of upside. He pitched in 33 games (32 starts) for the Rockies this year and he was 15-12 with a 3.47 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Jimenez did not pitch against the Phillies this season but he brings great stuff to the mound and he could pitch a big game for the Rockies. One thing to watch with Jimenez is his control which becomes quite spotty at times.
