The Phillies have picked up 30-year old lefty starting pitcher Cliff Lee’s option for the 2010 season. That wasn’t too hard of a decision after watching him dominate in the post season. Lee started 5 games in the post season for the Phillies and he was 4-0 with a 1.56 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP. He started 12 games for the Phillies during the regular season after coming over from the Indians at the trade deadline and he was 7-4 with a 3.39 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Overall, with the Indians & Phillies last season Lee started 34 games in which he was 14-13 with a 3.22 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Lee seems to keep getting better in his career and the Phillies are going to definately cash in on him.
