The Phillies have signed 37-year old righty swinging infielder Juan Castro to a 1-year deal. Castro played in 57 games for the Dodgers last year and he was 31 for 112 (.277 avg, .650 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 1 homer and 9 RBIs. He has now played in 1,041 games in his major league career and he is 572 for 2,484 (.230 avg, .602 OPS) with 244 runs scored, 36 homers and 220 RBIs. This was a nice little signing for the Phillies as Castro is a lot better player than Eric Bruntlett who he will be replacing.
