Charlie Manuel is the right manager for the Philadelphia Phillies

While it’s true that Charlie Manuel is a hillbilly he does get his Phillies to play well almost all of the time. He led the Phillies to a 93-69 record (57.4%) and their second N.L. pennant in a row before falling to the Yankees in the World Series. Manuel has now compiled a 447-363 record (55.2%) in his five years with the Phillies, winning the N.L. pennant twice and the World Series once. In his 8 years as a major league manager Manuel has compiled a 667-553 (54.7%) record. While he might not be the best strategist around he is a excellent motivator and his team loves playing for him.
