Drew Carpenter is pitching pretty well in AAA for the Philadelphia Phillies

25-year old righty starting pitcher Drew Carpenter is pitching solid baseball in AAA. He was once one of the brightest prospects in the Phillies’ minor league system but he no longer was one of the top 30 in their system coming into this season according to Baseball America. Carpenter has started 10 games this season in AAA-ball and he is 5-4 with a 3.36 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. Carpenter has only walked 16 batters in 56 1/3 innings this season as he has been showing outstanding control. Carpenter has pitched in 4 games (1 start) over the last two years for the Phillies and he is 1-0 with a 9.45 ERA and a 2.55 WHIP. Don’t be surprised to see Carpenter traded in the next couple of months if he’s pitching well as the Phillies are going to need more help in the bullpen.
