This was a very tough loss for the Phillies as it ended their season. Roy Oswalt pitched the first six innings of this game and he gave up 9 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) while walking none and whiffing 5 batters. Ryan Madson worked 2 innings and he gave up 1 run as Juan Uribe hit a solid homer off him in the 8th inning. Madson was the losing pitcher for the Phillies. Brad Lidge pulled a high wire act working a scoreless ninth inning allowing 2 hits while also walking a batter while whiffing 2. Ryan Howard was 2 for 5 with a double but he was whiffed looking by Brian Wilson for the last out of the Phillies’ season with two guys on base. Shane Victorino (2 for 4), Raul Ibanez (2 for 4 with a double) and Chase Utley (1 for 3 with 1 run scored, a double and 1 RBI) also helped out on offense. The Phillies lose this series 4-2 as the season ends for them.
