John Mayberry Jr. is off to a fast start for the Philadelphia Phillies
27-year old righty swinging outfielder John Mayberry Jr. is making the most of his atbats so far this year. He has played in 5 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 4 for 6 (.667 avg, 1.333 OPS) with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Mayberry has been awesome for the Phillies so far this year as he’s getting a lot of very clutch hits. In his first two years with the Phillies, Mayberry played in 50 games in which he was 16 for 69 (.232 avg, .810 OPS) with 12 runs scored, 6 homers and 14 RBIs. Those are impressive power numbers for a guy who just doesn’t get consistent P.T. I don’t see Mayberry getting more P.T. unless the Phillies suffer some more injuries in the outfield, but the Phillies would be happy to see him giving them a lot of clutch hits going forward.
