Jimmy Rollins is stepping up for the Philadelphia Phillies
32-year old switch hitting starting shortstop Jimmy Rollins had a rough year for the Phillies last year. He only played in 88 games for the Phillies in 2010 and he was 85 for 350 (.243 avg, .694 OPS) with 48 runs scored, 8 homers, 41 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. This year has been a different story so far for Rollins as he has stayed healthy. Rollins has played in 40 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 45 for 163 (.276 avg, .729 OPS) with 24 runs scored, 2 homers, 11 RBIs and 8 stolen bases. With all of the injuries the Phillies have suffered this year, Rollins has really stepped up when they needed him. The Phillies hope he can stay healthy the rest of the year.
