The Phillies have lost 25-year old righty starting pitcher Drew Naylor for the season as he underwent Tommy John Surgery last Tuesday. Naylor hasn’t pitched at all this year. He pitched in 27 games (26 starts) in AA-ball last year and he was 12-10 with a 4.63 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. Naylor has pitched in 106 games (94 starts) in his first five years in the minors and he is 38-40 with 1 save, a 4.12 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. This is a bad break for Naylor who was getting closer to Philly before this major injury.

UPDATE: (9/17/2011) – The Phillies have designated Drew Naylor for assignment.

UPDATE: (9/26/2011) – The Phillies have released Drew Naylor.
