The Philadelphia Phillies re-sign Scott Podsednik
The Phillies have re-signed 35-year old lefty swinging outfielder Scott Podsednik to a minor league deal. He played in 34 games in Rookie+A+AAA-ball last year and he was 34 of 134 (.254 avg, .735 OPS) with 19 runs scored, 0 homers, 8 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. Podsednik has played in 1,016 games in his first 10 years in the majors and he is 1,036 of 3,707 (.279 avg, .721 OPS) with 544 runs scored, 41 homers, 300 RBIs and 301 stolen bases. If Podsednik is healthy this spring, he will have a solid shot of making the Phillies’ opening day roster.
