The Philadelphia Phillies have placed Nate Schierholtz on the D.L.

The Phillies have placed 28-year old lefty swinging outfielder Nate Schierholtz on the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured big toe. He has played in 11 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 7 for 32 (.219 avg, .622 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 homer and 2 RBIs. Schierholtz has now played in 88 games overall this year for the Giants and Phillies in which he is 51 of 207 (.246 avg, .720 OPS) with 17 runs scored, 6 homers, 18 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. 32-year old righty swinging infielder Hector Luna has been called up from AAA by the Phillies. He has played in 26 games for the Phillies earlier this year and he is 14 for 57 (.246 avg, .681 OPS) with 5 runs scored, 2 homers and 10 RBIs.
