32-year old lefty swinging 1B Ryan Howard is done for the season after dropping a warmup bat, breaking his toe last night. Howard had a lost season as he had a very late start as he was rehabbing from Achilles surgery. Howard played in 71 games for the Phillies this year and he was 57 for 260 (.219 avg, .718 OPS) with 28 runs scored, 14 homers and 56 RBIs. 26-year old rookie righty swinging Darin Ruf will likely start the last four games this year for the Phillies at 1B. He has played in 8 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 7 for 21 (.333 avg, .889 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 homer and 5 RBIs.
