The Phillies have placed starting catcher Carlos Ruiz on the 15-day disabled list and he is going to miss the next 3-4 weeks due to a strained right hamstring.  Ruiz has played in 16 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 12 for 51 (.235 avg, 560 OPS) with 5 runs scored, 0 homers, 2 RBIs and 1 stolen base.  Erik Kratz will take over as the Phillies’ starting catcher while Ruiz is out of action.  Kratz has played in 28 games for the Phillies so far this year and he is 19 for 89 (.213 avg, .605 OPS) with 11 runs scored, 3 homers and 9 RBIs.  The Phillies have called up Humberto Quintero to replace Ruiz on the roster and he will back up Kratz behind the plate.  Quintero has played in 7 games for the Phillies earlier this year and he was 5 for 20 (.250 avg, .636 OPS) with 0 runs scored, 0 homers and 2 RBIs.
