Cole Hamels has been a little bit off in 2013 for the Philadelphia Phillies

29-year old lefty starting pitcher Cole Hamels has to be glad that May is over.  He started 6 games in May for the Phillies and he was 0-6 with a 4.95 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP.  Overall this year, Hamels has pitched in 12 games (all starts) in which he is 1-9 with a 4.86 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP.  Hamels has given up 74 hits (10 homers) and he has walked 25 batters while whiffing 66 of them in his first 74 innings so far this year.  Hamels has now pitched in 224 games (223 starts) in his first 8 years with the Phillies and he is 92-69 with a 3.42 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.  Hamels is probably going to turn things around in the very near future as he is a way better pitcher than he has shown so far in 2013.
